WINDOW DRESSING COMPETITION
Each year the shops in Heathfield High Street, Station Road, Station Approach and Hailsham road are invited to enter the competition by dressing their windows with a French/Gallic theme. Over the years a lively competitive spirit has evolved between the traders and the standard gets better and better each year. The pictures below are from Le Marché 2010. The very difficult task of judging the windows in the week prior to Le Marche is done by Valerie Chidson, the founder of Le Marché and Ronnie Thorpe from the Le Marché Organising Committee. The competition is free to enter and there are prizes, very kindly donated by Graeme Mackenzie of Martlet Wines, awarded to the best dressed windows.
